Suan Bua Royal Residence Museum (return to previous page)
When the King passed away, Suan Bua Royal Residence was closed. During that time and after the change
of the political system in 1932, most of the residential halls
and the surrounding areas of the Dusit Palace came under the supervision
of the Army. In the following years,Thammasat University Students
were granted royal permission to use Suan Bua Royal Residence as a dormitory.
On the auspicious occasion of the 72nd Birthday of King Bhumibol
Adulyadej in 1999 (Rama IX) , Suan Bua Royal Residence will be reopened and used as the museum for the
Bureau of the Royal Household. Exhibits will include precious
items such as a grand collection of Buddha Images and a Jade Collection.
It will also exhibit photographs taken by King Chulalongkorn.
Please enjoy the visit to Saun Bua Royal Residence, The Grand Museum.
