Ancient Clock Museum

The Ancient Clock Museum is situated north of Vimanmek Mansion. The museum was once a royal residence that King Rama V had built for HRH Princess Buang Soi Sa-Ang, who was responsible for the king’s royal garments.

This residence exhibits an antique clock collection and also houses King Rama V’s and Rama IX’s souvenirs from their trips aboard.

The reign of King Rama V can be called the golden era of clocks. During his 42 years reign, King Rama V visited Europe in 1897 and 1907. From these trips, His Majesty brought back several types of clocks to be used in the palace.
